Liverpool are seriously considering a move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, with sources suggesting there is a 70% chance the Brazilian makes the switch to Anfield during this transfer window.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that the Premier League champions have expressed formal interest in the 24-year-old, although a concrete offer has not yet been submitted. The timing coincides with growing uncertainty around Luis Diaz, who is drawing attention from both Bayern Munich and Barcelona, with direct talks reportedly underway.
Talks Have Already Begun Between Liverpool and Rodrygo’s Camp
According to Spanish journalist Eduardo Burgos, Liverpool’s interest in Rodrygo is more than just speculation. Speaking to The Redmen TV, Burgos confirmed that initial contact has already been made between the club and the player’s entourage.
“Liverpool have already met with his camp. They sent a representative to Madrid to speak with Rodrygo’s family, and the player is happy about the interest,” Burgos said.
“He’s open to leaving. He’s always admired the Premier League. Two summers ago, Manchester City made an attempt — Guardiola even called him — but he opted to stay at Madrid. That’s no longer the case. Now, he wants to be the star, and that’s unlikely to happen at Real Madrid.”
Burgos suggested the odds of a transfer happening are closer to 70-30, indicating a strong chance Liverpool may make their move soon.

Rodrygo Could Be the Ideal Replacement for Luis Diaz
While Rodrygo has often been linked with Premier League clubs in the past, the current circumstances feel more aligned for a potential deal. With Diaz’s future unresolved and Arne Slot planning for another title-challenging season, Liverpool are exploring reinforcements for their attacking line.
Slot currently has four senior forwards at his disposal. Should Diaz leave, Rodrygo would be a strategic addition, offering both experience and positional versatility. Though most comfortable on the right wing, the Brazilian can also operate across the front three — a valuable trait in a squad known for its fluidity.
At 24, Rodrygo has already lifted two Champions League titles and three LaLiga trophies with Real Madrid. His technical quality, composure in the final third, and big-game experience make him a high-caliber option.
Real Madrid’s Position and Transfer Outlook
Real Madrid are in no rush to sell. Rodrygo is under contract until 2028, and Carlo Ancelotti has publicly praised him as a “special striker.” As such, any move would likely require a significant transfer fee, potentially exceeding £70 million.
Still, if Liverpool fail to secure a traditional centre-forward like Alexander Isak or Hugo Ekitike, Rodrygo is expected to move up the shortlist. His combination of youth, versatility, and elite experience would not only fill a potential gap left by Diaz but signal Liverpool’s continued ambition under their new manager.
As negotiations evolve, Liverpool fans will be watching closely. With Rodrygo reportedly eager to embrace a leading role, Anfield might offer the perfect stage for his next chapter.
