Inter Milan have officially completed the transfer of Franco Carboni to Empoli, while reports from Spain indicate that right-back Denzel Dumfries has been offered to Barcelona by super-agent Jorge Mendes.
On Tuesday, Inter confirmed that Franco Carboni, the 22-year-old Argentine left-back and brother of Valentin Carboni, has joined Empoli on a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy at the end of the season. Since joining the Nerazzurri in 2020, Carboni has spent time on loan at several clubs, including Cagliari, Monza, Ternana, River Plate, and Venezia.
Barcelona Interested in Dumfries — But Time is Ticking
Meanwhile, according to Sport in Spain, Jorge Mendes recently offered Denzel Dumfries to FC Barcelona during meetings with the club’s hierarchy. The Dutch international has a €25 million release clause, which is set to expire at the end of July — putting pressure on any potential suitor to act quickly.
Although Barcelona reportedly view the 29-year-old favorably, the club is currently prioritizing reinforcements in other areas of the pitch, making a deal for Dumfries complicated under current circumstances.
Dumfries had a strong campaign last season, contributing 11 goals and 6 assists across 47 appearances in all competitions — solidifying his status as one of Europe’s most dynamic attacking full-backs.
Inter now face a decision: cash in before the clause expires or risk losing leverage in future negotiations.
